Mapogalmaegi (마포 갈매기) Korean BBQ Restaurant (REVIEW)

Mapogalmaegi is also known as Ma Gal. It is located at Mayjen Sungkono street number 243 C-D, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. In my opinion, Ma-Gal is one of the cheapest Korean restaurant in Surabaya. Of all Korean restaurants in Surabaya, Ma-Gal Korean BBQ restaurant serves the best BBQ menu of all. I have visited that place twice and it is always full of people eating there. They are even willing to make a line just for ordering the food because the food’s deliciousness.

There were 5 side dishes they served. Their side dishes were not as much as Myoung-Ga or other Korean restaurants served.

At the first time I visited there, I ordered:

Uselgui (Beef Tongue). It was a little bit unrippable. But it tasted nice.

Samgyeobsal (Pork Belly). I’m speechless after eating this one. IT TASTED SO DELICIOUS!!! Recommended!

Sogogi dolsut bibimbap (Beef Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap). It was so tasty. A perfect combination in a hot pot! You should try it!

Cham iseul soju (Korean Alcohol Drink).

Japchae pork (Sweet Potato Noddle with various vegetables and seasoning, with pork). The portion of japchae was much for a person, so if you want to order, you have to bring your friends or your family. It tasted a little bit too sweet for me.

Pork combo-1. It consists of 3 different kinds of pork.

Fortunately, I got a free Beosotmali from ordering pork combo (Mushrooms of Beef rolls with Teriyaki Sauce).

The difference between Ma-Gal and other Korean restaurants is that Ma-Gal serves the grilled meat surrounded by egg with kimchi inside. It tasted really good!

After all, this restaurant is highly recommended for those who like Korean cuisine. The price is approximately friendly compared to the other Korean restaurants. It is also located strategically yet reachable. The service is also very good, they are all kind and give the best service. That’s all from me, cheers!
